An Eclectic Mix of Oddities

I continued my vacation week with another field trip. A friend and I visited New England Demolition & Salvage in New Bedford, Massachusetts. What a place--seas of windows, doors, and shutters downstairs, plus oceans of sinks, tubs, and toilets upstairs. That doesn't even account for the miscellaneous odd things, of which there were many.

My only disappointment was that the vintage clothing store contained within the salvage yard had a clearly posted No Photos sign. I could have put together an entire photo post of hat boxes and old luggage. The clothes made me yearn to host a costume party so that I'd have an excuse to buy and wear at least one amazing thing.

Alas, I didn't need an organ or a fireplace mantle, and the old phone booth that caught my eye was much too worse for wear. All I came home with were photos and memories of a fun day with a friend. My husband will be so pleased.
